Harry's Herbal Teas: Constitution

Harry's Tea Company was inspired by The London Apothecary, written by Mabel White.  Mabel flew to London from the United States during the Christmas Holidays, 2005.  Her mission?  Tired of being sick and thrown expensive meds to "maintain" being sick.  Facing hypertension, kidney and ultimately diabetic issues, she was handed countless pills in the States. She could not keep track! 

She wanted to see, first hand, what leading herbalists were able to discuss in Europe that we were not being told in the States.  She learned a vault of information.  Since most people cannot to afford to fly overseas to do their own research, she loves sharing the helpful details.  Her goal is to make the Harry's line affordable as possible while maintaining a high quality.  She learned with herbs, the actual part does count.  Few people in the States really know the detail variances of an herbal plant.  Mabel was, and still is positive, big pharmaceutical companies own the U.S. mindset via unlimited lobbying funds. The U.K. has socialized medicine, so they are big on prevention and cure.  They do not make an industry off the sickly. 

In London, Mabel learned far more than she planned.  She researched Chinese Medicine in the SoHo district of London as well as being assigned a personal Herbalist from the oldest and most prestigious herbalist firm in the United Kingdom.   This firm is known as Napier.  Good timing, Napier had just bought Culpepper, their well respected rival. 

The use of teas was the biggest surprise, Mabel at the time not being a tea person.  At the same time there are so many teas becoming adored in the States, but being fad types and not nearly as result oriented as the European set.  In the U.K.  Mabel learned what teas actually worked and was also welcome to film the experience.

One example was Dandelion Leaf.  Mabel had adapted to having swollen fingers her entire life, being a water "retainer" type.  The Dandelion Leaf tea worked so well her fingers looked thinner and "new" for the first time she can remember.  Her ring size went from an 8 to a 6 while drinking three cups of Dandelion Tea a day.  Click here for the Dandel-Aide diet.

Dandelion Leaf was just one of many examples of the true treasures of London.  SoHo taught Mabel more about Stevia, a white herb 200 times sweeter than sugar, having no carbs or glycemic value.  Just a dust in recipes taste just like sugar.  A common condiment in Japan, but dearly protected from us to learn about in the States.  In the States Stevia can only be sold as a "nutritional supplement" or perhaps a "flavor" although many Americans are happily putting it right in their food as do the people of the orient on a day to day basis.  It can never be sold as a sweetener or major artificial sweetener companies would throw a fit. Not to mention the sugar cane money who would for once team up with the artificial foes for the unthinkable. A simple herb.

In London, Mabel also met other U.S. Citizens in the U.K. that were healed from various ailments.  They  decided to just stay in London and call it home.  Back in the States Mabel located a company who has the best salt alternative, which is a patented product sold here at Harry's.  Between dropping the sugar, salt from her diet and adding good herbal teas in, Mabel is happy and in far better shape.  Also saving tons of money that was going to Doctor bills.  The dramatic weight loss was a bonus!

The best part of her journey?  Her Napier/Culpeper guide stays in touch with her to this day and did help build Harry's line.  A friendship forged forever cross-Atlantic.
